Disappointed in my Government

Nicole on September 6th, 2007

Today I am deeply disappointed in the U.S. Justice Department.

The agency told the Federal Communications Commission, which is reviewing high-speed Internet practices, that it is opposed to “Net neutrality,” the principle that all Internet sites should be equally accessible to any Web user.

I feel their reasons are utterly twisted and completely unrealistic. It is a move that seems very strongly motivated by corporate interests. It looks terrible because the government is set to make a very large sum of money when they sell off a huge portion off wireless space to AT&T, a company who - by random coincidence of course - is strongly against Net neutrality.

Feel free to read more from that article and judge for yourself.
